The combination of an attractive historic centre with the partial home of the European Parliament, Council of Europe and Court of Human Rights makes Strasbourg an essential study destination for groups wanting to enhance their understanding of the European institutions. Although the city is also famous for its cathedral which is the highest medieval building in Europe, students of political science, law, history and language as well as architecture will find a visit to the city both absorbing and rewarding.

more
The Germans established the Natzweiler-Struthof concentration camp near the town of Natzweiler, about 31 miles southwest of Strasbourg, the capital of the province of Alsace (in eastern France). It was one of the smaller concentration camps built by the Germans. Until construction was completed in May 1941, prisoners slept in the nearby former Hotel Struthof, hence the name Natzweiler-Struthof. The camp held about 1,500 prisoners. Prisoners worked in nearby granite quarries, in construction projects, and in the maintenance of the camp. Concentration camps never disappoint the visitor, the spectre of the past resonating in the minds of those young (and lucky) enough to not recall their workings.
